   ~Blog Post~

Today I thought I'd talk a bit about two types of heroes that I love, but who are very, very different. The first is the good-looking, dashing, outgoing, gets any woman he wants, bad boy. The other is the Average Joe, introverted, maybe a little geeky, doesn't get loads of women, nice guy.

ORIGINAL COVER
CURRENT COVER

One of my favorite of all time heroes is Christian (Kit) de Rivers. He is definitely the good-looking, dashing bad boy with a double life, and he meets his match (and then some) in the winsome, gentle, Nora.  I've read this novel so many times, I've lost count. It never, ever disappoints. They have a rocky road to love, but, boy what a payoff! I love, love, love, love, love, love, LOVE this hero, this heroine, and this story!

By the way: The cover on the left is the old book cover, which I really like a lot better than the current one, which is the one on the right.

SYNOPSIS

A daring spy in Queen Mary's court, Lady Eleanora Becket risks her life to rescue the innocent from a terrible fate. During an attack by a band of cutthroats, Nora is rescued by Christian de Rivers, a sword-wielding rogue who sweeps her into his arms.

Now, as far as Average Joe, introverted heroes go, I fall for Will Farrell's Harold Crick every time. I think it's probably at the exact same time that Maggie Gyllenhaal's character, Anna Pascal, falls for him: When he picks up that guitar and sings Whole Wide World for her. *Sigh* And, I'm always so happy that Harold does get his happily-ever-after.

SYNOPSIS

An IRS auditor suddenly finds himself the subject of narration only he can hear: narration that begins to affect his entire life, from his work, to his love-interest, to his death.

  19. I tend to become lovestruck with every single hero that I read about. I just love reading the banter between characters and I enjoy a truly great love story like Gone with the Wind. I just got done reading a historical romance series and fell for the main character in the wild one.

  41. Well I was lovestruck by Eric Northman but after reading the final book...hmmm I'm up for a new book love!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. No, not really. I try not to get attached to the heroes or men in the fiction I read since I mostly read books from the girl's POV. I love strong heroines, so the books I tend to read only have men as side characters, or the romance isn't as prevalent as the storyline. But I do have a girl crush on Rachel Morgan from The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. She's just one badass heroine.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

There are so many different types of romantic heroes. I like your choices. There is also the honest type like Sam in your story Diamonds and Toads. Bad boy or geek, as long as the hero is honest, he makes me dream of him :)
