Six Sentence Sunday #6

Wow! What a great week! The New Year's Blog Hop was a smashing, smashing success, and I just had a total blast. For any of you that did not participate in the hop, I highly recommend that you run over and put your name on the list RIGHT NOW to be included in the next one organized by Carrie Ann Ryan, which is scheduled for March 16th, celebrating St. Paddy's day.

Anyway...back to this week's Six Sentence Sunday snippet.wink
The past weeks I've been sharing snippets from my hot and steamy contemporary romance romp, DIAMONDS AND TOADS: A MODERN FAIRY TALE available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and All Romance eBooks. If you'd like to read an excerpt, click here.

Set-up: This is from part two, the "bad" sister, Isadora's story. She's been cursed with a quirky little speech impediment by a fairy, which forces her to say highly humiliating things. Sam, Isadora's ex-fiancé, has shown up unexpectedly to the engagement ball for her sister, Delilah (who is marrying the man that Isadora's mother, Delilah's stepmother, had pegged for Isadora). He's managed to get Isadora out on the dance floor and is now intent on turning the screw with her a bit, little knowing that Isadora has no means of defending herself. So, let's see just how tightly he's turning that screw....

“Wait, don’t tell me. January of oh-four. The first party of the new semester.”

Isadora shrugged. No telling what would come out of her mouth if she tried to answer him.

“That certainly was a defining moment for me: finding my fiancĂ©e going down on my best friend.” He dipped her and then slowly brought her up, holding her much-too-close against him.

Come back next week for another six sentences in Isadora and Sam's unfolding love story.

  1. Yep, that would be a "defining moment." If I were Isadora, I might explode from not being able to defend myself. Gah. What a twisting tale.

  17. Yep, in a way he actually is, Pippa Jay! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment :-D

Sam's still in love with her, that's his biggest problem. So, what does he do? When he gets his invite to a wedding between his best friend from college and NOT the woman he expected (his ex-fiancee), well, let's just say, he's not only determined to get a little revenge, but he's also bound that he's not going to let her know that he still REALLY gives a damn. Plus, he has no idea she's been fairy cursed, so there's a lot going on here that isn't on the surface.
