Six Sentence Sunday # 5

Hello, everyone! I sure hope all of you are having a wonderful New Year's Day! Can you believe it's already 2012?

The past weeks I've been sharing snippets from my hot and steamy contemporary romance romp, DIAMONDS AND TOADS: A MODERN FAIRY TALE available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and All Romance eBooks. If you'd like to read an excerpt, click here.

Gordon Laite Illustration: Toads & Diamonds
Set-up: This is from part two, the "bad" sister, Isadora's story. She's been cursed with a quirky little speech impediment by a fairy, which forces her to say highly humiliating things. Sam, Isadora's ex-fiancĂ©, has  shown up unexpectedly to the engagement ball for her sister, Delilah (who is marrying the man that Isadora's mother, Delilah's stepmother, had pegged for Isadora). He's managed to get Isadora out on the dance floor and is now intent on turning the screw with her a bit, little knowing that Isadora has no means of defending herself. So, let's see what they're up to....

***

“So—Chas and Delilah. I’ll bet you’re pretty disappointed. You’ve had your sights on the guy for a long time now—what is it? Seven—eight years?”

Seven. And a couple of months.

***

Come back next week for another six sentences in Isadora and Sam's unfolding love story.

  9. How sad. :-( Often the 'bad' are just begging for a reason to turn 'good'. Is that the case with Isadora? I'm really looking forward to reading this!
